The memory wire we have comes in five sizes and four colours! All sizes come in either bright or harvest gold. Only a limited number of sizes are available in the Silver Plated and Gold Plated effects. Memory wire is a very strong, very hard wire which always returns to its original circular shape when pulled out of shape. As each size of coil is different for the ring, bracelet and necklace size, this doesn't mean you have to have a finger, wrist or neck that diameter to use it! Memory wire will expand to fit most sizes whilst staying in a circular shape. It is possible to pull the memory wire out of shape but it does take a lot of pulling to achieve this!
The picture shows from left to right; Gold Plated, Harvest Gold, Bright (Dull Silver) and Silver Plated.
Ring size, each coil is 1.9cm-2.1cm (0.75"-0.84") in diameter. The 1oz pack contains approx.195 coils, The 1/2oz pack (Gold & Silver Plated only) contains approx.99 coils. The 1/4oz pack contains approx. 49 coils.
Memory Wire Cutters
Memory Wire is very strong, very hard wire and we have found that memory wire does notch normal jewellery cutters. We also find that the memory wire springs back and stabs the user when cutting with normal cutters as well. Ouch! But not anymore. These memory wire cutters do not notch when used on memory wire and cut cleanly and neatly. These cutters are worth having if you are cutting a lot of memory wire or any tough/hard wire.

We have 3 types of endcaps to finish off memory wire with, 3mm round, 4mm cubes and 6.5mm cones. We have experimented with different glues to fix these to the memory wire and have found Beadfix to be the best for attaching the 3mm round to memory wire. The Beadfix will work with the cubes and cones but we find that epoxy resin glue is much better, this is our opinion and we know that many customers have their own preference when glueing the endcaps to memory wire.
These round metal caps are half drilled so that they fit snuggly on the end of the memory wire making it look and feel nicer to wear.
The cubes are half drilled to fit on to the end of the memory wire without any of the wire being exposed. The cubes measure 4mm. The holes in these components are a little large for the wire and we find that sticking them straight may prove to be a bit tricky. Use an epoxy resin glue to attach these endcaps with as this will fill the gap as well as give a good bond. The cost of these endcaps is much higher than the plain 3mm round. We still sell these in 10's but only in 50's as the wholesale quantity.
The cones, like the cubes and round caps are half drilled to fit on to the end of the memory wire. These cones measure 6.5mm in length. We use an epoxy resin glue to stick these endcaps on with as we found that the holes aren't drilled as deep as we first thought. The epoxy resin glue works well as a filler and gives a strong bond, the only draw back is that it takes some time to harden. This is our preference and you may find that it doesn't work for you! The cost of these endcaps is much higher than the plain 3mm round. We still sell these in 10's but only in 50's as the wholesale quantity.
Beadfix is like a super glue but there is somethng about it that works for gluing the endcaps to memory wire. We have tried both normal superglue and superglue gel but beadfix glue is the quickest and easiest. If you want a very secure finish epoxy resin is best but it is fiddly mixing the 2 parts together!

Beadfix mini is exactly the same as the beadfix above but this is a smaller amount, this container holds 3g of glue instead of the 10gs in the container above. This version does have 3 'precision' applicators (attachable thin plastic nozzles) which does make it easier to use.
