As every business knows without it's customers it is nothing. However, without dedicated staff members there would be no customers to enjoy the friendly, fast and efficient service we provide.

Fair Trade and Ethical policy

All of us here at The Bead Shop feel pretty strongly about looking after our planet for the prosperity of future generations.

As a company we use recycled paper wherever possible including the invoices we send with our mailorders and we always use the second side of any A4 paper where ever possible, such as suppliers delivery notes, mail circulars and any mistakes that we make.

If you are a mailorder customer then you may have already received an order in a recycled box which previously held stock or re-used packaging that was previously sent to us.

Everything that can be re-cycled, is recycled. Even the empty milk containers are sometimes cut up and used as scoops in the stockroom! Otherwise they are rinsed and recycled in our regular recycling collection, which includes paper, cardboard, tin cans and plastic.

We do everything possible to ensure that everyone along the supply chain works in good conditions and receives a fair wage. At present the only fairtrade beads we have are the Ugandan paper beads but we are working on expanding this. Both in our workshops and during our normal working day we use only fairtrade teas, coffee & hot chocolate.

The customers who attend our workshops and the bead & biscuit drop in sessions also get to enjoy Traidcraft cookies, dried fruit, chocolate bars and fruit juices.
