Sterling Silver Wire
Sterling silver wire is available in 5 diameters from 0.25mm (30 gauge) to 1.0mm (18 gauge). Each diameter is available in either Dead Soft or Half Hard hardness. Each spool holds 1oz of sterling silver wire, which means that each diameter of wire will contain a different length of wire.
The price for each spool is the same at £29.95. This is because sterling silver is priced by weight!
Please note that the lengths stated in the descriptions below are approxiamate and will change from spool to spool.
The Dead Soft is very pliable and can be easily bent into any number of shapes. It will not hold a shape in instances where it would be subject to tension, such as on a clasp (unless it is work hardened).
The Half Hard is pliable, but unlike ‘Dead-Soft’ wire,it will maintain an intricate shape under tension.
