How to make a Swarovski Briolette Bracelet

Make a super sparkly Swarovski Briolette Bracelet, complete with crimp covers for a neat finish.

This bracelet measures 16.5cm. If you’d like to make a longer bracelet, you can add extra beads by repeating the pattern (each pattern repeat is 2cm) as many times as you require before finishing the end. Alternatively, you could use a trigger clasp and an extension chain instead of a toggle clasp to finish the bracelet.

How to make a Swarovski Briolette Bracelet

Step 1

Thread the end of the wire through a crimp bead, followed by the loop of the toggle clasp and then back down the crimp bead (trapping the clasp in a small loop.) Adjust the size of the loop, so it is about 3-4mm long and secure the crimp beads by squashing it firmly with the chain nose pliers. Cut off the excess wire with cutters close to the crimp.

Step 2

Use a crimp cover to hide the crimp and make a neat finish. The diagram to the right will help by showing where to apply pressure when closing a crimp cover; place the chain nose pliers in position where the purple arrows are and gentle squeeze closed, then reposition to where the pink arrows are and gently squeeze. This should bring the two edges together snugly with no gaps.

Step 3

Thread the beads on to the wire in this sequence:  4mm, (6mm, 8mm, 6mm, 4mm), then keep repeating the part in brackets until you have added all the beads. You should end on a 4mm bead. This creates a subtle wave pattern along the bracelet.

Step 4

Once all your beads are on the wire, thread on a crimp bead followed by the other part of the clasp and then back down the crimp bead. Ensure the beads aren’t too tightly compacted onto the wire before securing the crimp otherwise it will be difficult to bend afterwards (a good way to ensure this doesn’t happen is to fasten the bracelet, close up any gaps, then squash the crimp).

Step 5

Finish the ends by trimming off the excess wire and closing a crimp cover over the crimp.
