I love blackwork embroidery designs. They’re not as daunting or time consuming as cross-stitch and have a more contemporary feel to them, though that is definitely helped by the lovely geometric designs. Blackwork embroidery was traditionally used for embellishing clothing but it is also used to great effect to create tonal shading in stitch work. The Anchor Blackwork Bee Embroidery Kit, Both of these kits provide the opportunity to try out a variety of different patterns and stitches within each design. Anchor have given them a a 2 star, intermediate rating, however I think if you’re already use to working with small beads you’ll be fine with these kit. The kit is ideal for creating lovely artwork for your home or as a gift.

The kits come with 14 count white Aida fabric, high quality Anchor stranded cotton embroidery thread and comprehensive pattern and instructions. The kit does not come with an embroidery hoop, the kit recommended size to use is approx. 13cm. Our 16cm embroidery hoop would also work. You will also need embroidery needles, our Embroidery sewing needles would be ideal. You will also need the use for scissors.
