PLEASE NOTE THE MATERIALS FOR THIS WORKSHOP ARE NOT INCLUDED, THEY CAN BE BOUGHT SEPARATELY, see details below.
This beginners wirework virtual workshop will run on Thursday 6th July 2020 starting at 6.30pm running for approximately 1 – 1.5 hrs.
This is a great project combining basic wire work skills to create a unique bangle. Steph will guide you through making a wire frame for your bangle before showing you how to add beads and colour into your design. This is a perfect project for stash busting collections of bead you weren’t sure what it do with. Or if you do not already have beads our Czech glass bead mixes are ideal especially when paired with a size 8 seed bead mix.
For this virtual workshop you will need to gather the following materials (these are not included in the cost of the workshop);
1.2mm silver plated wire.
0.4mm silver plated wire
2 x 6mm silver plated jump rings
1 x silver plated medium trigger clasp
A mix of medium size beads (4mm – 8mm) Czech glass bead mixes are idea for this.
Some smaller seed bead for filling in small gaps – size 8 seed bead mixes are great for this, or something similar.
You will also need access to chain nose and round nose pliers as well as cutters.
What else might I need?
There are a couple of items that are really useful, but not essential and some of you might already have them.
A beading mat – very useful for stopping all your beads from rolling away.
Nylon jawed pliers – good for gripping wire and doesn’t leave marks.
How will it work?
Buy the virtual workshop and we will email you a link to join the class via Zoom, the day before along with instructions.
What if I miss the beginning, or can’t make the time after I’ve bought the kit?
If you have missed the beginning you will still be able to join in, but unfortunately we’ll not be able to start again from the beginning. If you’ve missed more that the first 15 minutes or so, you might find it easier to wait until you can access the video after the live session has finished.
How long will the workshop be?
We will anticipate the workshop will be approximately 1 and a half hours (including introductions and questions at the end). Steph, our tutor will be available for longer and will stay connected with anyone who has further questions or needs extra help (after all , everyone will have different levels of experience and works at a different pace, which is absolutely fine).
Do I need special software or equipment to view the tutorial?
You will need to use a device that has a forward facing camera, not all PC’s or laptops have this, however most tablets, pads and phones do. We will be using a service called Zoom, so that you can interact with Steph and ask questions.
