Workshops

All classes are held at our city centre shop, in our first floor spacious workshop room. Our workshops offer you the opportunity to learn new skills, increase your confidence with jewellery making and meet new beaders. All our workshop prices include materials (unless stated otherwise) and you get to take home the jewellery you make. All materials are provided and you get to take home the jewellery you make. There will be fairtrade refreshments and you will also receive a 10% off voucher for purchases you make in the shop (exclusions apply, please see main workshop page for more details).

This shop and the people who work there are absolutely amazing! I order both online and via phone when I have a bigger order and they are so helpful. Recently I placed an order and it meant that they had to order some bits in because it was a big order and one or two items weren't normally stocked... by them. Rather than send me to another bead shop to get the non stock items, they put in a special order for me and went out of their way to make sure that all was done in one stop. They ship things quickly and securely and the packages are always well wrapped without being wasteful. In all, The Bead Shop (Nottingham) is one of the best bead shops around and I wish I lived closer so I could spend more time browsing the actual shop!read more

I recently attended a beginners jewellery workshop at The Bead Shop in Nottingham, after being given a voucher for my birthday last year. I have fancied picking up a little creative hobby for a while, but what I hadn’t anticipated was just how relaxing it would be. I completely switched off to... everything else for 3 hours and it was so refreshing. Honestly think these workshops should be offered to big companies as a way to reduce stress and get their staff feeling creative. Can’t wait to come back for another!read more

I recently visited the Bead Shop in Nottingham and was very pleased to be served by extremely helpful young lady. I am very much a beginner at Jewellery making and she identified everything I needed to make some earrings. She was also courteous and cheerful. I later tried to order some more... items using the mail order website but due to my lack of technological skills, I soon ran into difficulties. I telephoned the shop and a very pleasant gentleman talked me through the whole process (which incidently was very straightforward). I am grateful to the Bead Shop not only for the professionalism, patience and courtesy of their staff but also for the quality of their merchandise. Stumbled across this wonderful site while I was shopping for some new delica beads and I was thrilled by the choice of colours and the different types of beads they offer at very reasonable prices. Their site is super easy to navigate and they have a very handy quick-add of various amounts of the... beads you want which makes it very quick to fill up your basket (much to the dismay of my bank balance!) I recently attended an 'Introduction to jewellery making' class here and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a nice,small group, which meant help was at hand when needed, and the instructor was really patient and knowledgeable. We left with a bracelet and a pair of earrings each that we had made... ourselves, which I am wearing with pride. I am new to bead weaving and having bought seed beads ,needles and a book to start I realised storage was an issue. I bought bead tubes and a needle case to protect my tools. I then saw the beginners kit so that went in my basket. The delivery was quick and by Royal mail, wooden needle case take... my new beading needles(can't find them anywhere else). The kit is beautifully presented and has what appears to be comprehensive instructions.looking forward to starting it. Will certainly be back.read more

Great little shop packed with everything you need to make gorgeous bead creations. We attended one of the bead jewellery workshops upstairs. There were 10 of us on a hen party day of celebrations. Our tutor, Emma was brilliant and we all made a pair of earrings and a bracelet to take home. With it... being a hen party she also allowed us to have cupcakes and champagne whilst we worked. It made for a very enjoyable afternoon.read more
