The Bead Shop Teams creative inspiration using our Rubberised Acrylic Beads

When you work in a bead shop you can’t help but get excited about new products & the endless possibilities with them. It was no different when our new Rubberised Acrylic bead range arrived last week. So as everyone’s creative cogs whirred into action I thought I’d share our creative inspiration on using our Rubberised Acrylic Beads with you all. You can view the full range of the beads here.

Rubberised Acrylic bead bracelet with spacer beads

Hana straight away suggested making a green & navy alternating bracelet. I’ve made it up for her (since she’s still on maternity leave) this is right up Hana’s street. She loves purples, bright blues and teals so this would go so well with many of the items she wears. I also added in polygon spacer beads. I think it’s simple and effective.

rubberised acrylic earrings in dark grey. 12mm beads sat on top of a larger flat semi circular beads. They threaded on head pins and made into earrings.

Along with the round beads we also have a large semi-circular bead, I love this as it’s lightweight, perfect for making statement earrings. I like the geometric shape and nod to mid-century modern style. I’ve put them with the dark grey 12mm bead to keep them neutral (they’ll go with almost everything). However you could always pair them with another colour for a brighter finished look and other types of beads.

Lucy's luscious Green necklace

Lucy paired the dark green beads with the Preciosa Pearlescent Peacock Green pearls and they look fabulous together.

Rubberised Acrylic beads paired with fimo clay

Angela picked out these gorgeous polymer clay colours to go with this little collection of beads:
Champagne rubberised Acrylic beads with Rose Gold Effects Fimo.
Coffee rubberised Acrylic beads with Copper Effects Fimo
Dark grey rubberised acrylic beads with stardust Effects Fimo
Ange isn’t 100% settled on what she’s going to make with them yet. But she was thinking of creating geometric shapes to go with the lovely round beads. It’s a very sophisticated pallet with more than a hint of 1930’s glamour.

Beaded Sunflower Necklace

I’ve also been on a bit of a roll recently taking inspiration from my garden for my beading  (you might have seen the cornflower earrings I made in our recent newsletter). I’m attempting to grow sunflowers this year too. So I thought I’d have a go at making a sunflower necklace using the lovely 12mm Coffee beads as the centre and size 8 yellow Permalux seed beads for the petals. I think they’ve worked quite well. They’d also make great earrings.

Mid century modern inspired necklace

So I might have got carried away, but I couldn’t help myself with this necklace. After making the geometric earrings I wondered what else you could do with the semi circle beads and thought they’d make a wonderful statement necklace. It’s inspired by the earring which made me think of the fun and simple shapes of mid century modern designs. I keep the necklace simple by combining the rich rubberised acrylic beads with 6mm black wooden beads, threaded on 1mm waxed cotton cord.

I’m going to admit it, the gorgeous Bordeaux and dark green beads keep giving me Christmassy vibes, which is exactly what Alice said too! They’d look fabulous with the new size 8 galvanised gold seed beads – I haven’t made anything festive with these yet (it is June after all) however I thought I’d mention it as I know how many of you are so organised when it comes to your festive creating. It’ll not be long before you’re gathering supplies!

Hopefully these few ideas have helped your creative inspiration using our Rubberised Acrylic Beads. We’d love to see your creations with this new range, make sure you tag us on social media so we can see them too.
