8mm Sterling Silver Jump Ring

Our 8mm sterling silver jump ring one of the most versatile components that you can have in your jewellery kit.

Used commonly when hanging pendants from necklaces or connecting two findings together; e.g. necklace end and a clasp.  Jump rings can be linked together to form a safety chain or an extension chain.

This is the size that we use most frequently for chainmaille jewellery; it makes a loose 4 pattern and a semi-rigid 6 pattern.

The 8mm jump ring is made from 1.2mm wire.  These rings have a break that allows you to twist open and close, however the sterling silver jump rings can be carefully soldered closed.

When opening and closing, it’s always best to twist, rather than pull apart, to keep the nice round shape in tact.
