Half Round Silver Plated Wire 1mm (18 Gauge)

Description

This is a soft half round silver plated wire 1mm that is useful for wrapping and securing wirework. Good for tiaras, especially wrapping the band as the flat part of the wire sits very nicely against the band. This also makes it great for wrapping and holding Square wires neatly together without causing any extra bulk.

The Half Round Silver Plated Wire 1mm has a copper core that is silver plated with an anti-tarnish coating. The overall appearance of the wire is slightly matte, giving it a subtle satin effect.

The coating on the wire is chemically bonded to the surface. It is then thermally cured which makes the wire tarnish resistant. The result is a clear protective layer that prevents the wire from tarnishing. When bending and manipulating the wires, you may notice the coating peel away. Usually this occurs at the seams where hard angles are formed. If the peeling happens, it is recommended that you gently flake off the small pieces. The surface of the wire will retain a molecular layer of tarnish resistance. Your finished wire-wrapped design should look flawless. When manipulating wire it is handy to have a pair of nylon jawed pliers on hand. These will prevent marks from hard steel pliers from being visible on your finished work.
