Sterling Silver Crimp Tube

The Sterling Silver Crimp Tube provides a much neater finish than crimp beads.

The crimp tubes measure 2mm x 2mm and have a 1.3mm internal diameter. The generously sized hole will give you the option to crimp more than one thread at a time. This will depend on which thread you are using. The 1.3mm internal diametre hole should give you a good idea of what you can use.

You use crimp tubes in the same way as crimp beads. Crimp tubes are used to crimp the ends of threads to capture a clasp. You would either crush them flat using chain nose pliers or use standard-size crimping pliers. Crimping pliers differ from chainnose because they have two shaped notches in the jaws. Crimping pliers give a neater finish as you crush and fold the crimp tube. This also tends to make the crimped crimp tube more secure.

The sterling silver crimp tube also works well with magical crimpers. Magical crimping pliers crimps and shapes the crimp tube into a round bead.
