Cabochons are tradionally semi-precious gemstones which have been cut and highly polished with a domed front face and flat back. These days cabochons are available in a variety of materials other than gemstones. Cabochons do not have holes and this makes then ideal for beadweaving. When used in beadweaving a bezel is weaved around the edge of the cabochon giving you a method of attaching the cabochon to your jewellery. Metal settings are also available which will convert the cabochon to a pendant ready for hanging from a necklace or for making into a brooch.
