Czech Glass Bead Mix – Star Sky – 250g

Description

This is a random mix of beads, mostly blue beads in various sizes mixed with yellow star beads (12mm) and some small coppery coloured spacer beads ( 3 x 6mm). The blue beads in the mix range from small and large transparent faceted beads to mottled small ones, opaque texted ones and a few stars. All made from glass with varying sized holes from 0.6mm and no larger than 1mm.

50g contains an average of 150 beads.

The Czech Republic is probably the largest producer of glass beads in the world. Fire polished is the term given to faceted glass. The facets in the glass are cut by machine and are very angular with sharp definition. The beads are then placed back into a kiln to allow the facets to melt slightly to give them a rounded shiny appearance which is why they are called fire-polished.
