We often get asked in the shop for help choosing gifts so we thought we’d put together a Christmas gift guide for the bead and craft lovers in your life. We’ve each chosen a product we think would make a great gift or we’d love ourselves.
Hana’s gift suggestion My gift suggestion would be the Around the Twist peyote stitch pen cover. It’s a great starting point even if you’re new to beading, and immensely satisfying to create. When I made one, I only needed the pattern for the first few rows then you can just get stuck in which I think makes this an ideal kit for a new beader or if you’re crafting in a busy environment over the festive period.

Steph’s Gift Suggestion I already have a lot of crafting and beading materials which I’ll admit makes me tricky to buy for, so I regularly ask for workshop places as gifts. It’s a great experience, you’ll end up with lovely handmade items at the end and learn a new skill. Sometimes it kick starts a new intertest or hobby too. If you’re unsure which class the recipient might like, you can always get vouchers so they can pick their own. Robin’s Gift Suggestion You can’t beat a good tool set! I was torn between either the Purple plier set as it comes in a handy case that has extra space for all your additional tools. Or the Chroma set, they look spectacular, and I really like the weight of the metal chroma pliers. It’s the kind of set you might not justify buying for yourself but would be over the moon to receive as a gift.

Tammy’s Gift Suggestion My gift choice would be the Sculpey III 30 colour sampler pack. A simple but fun range of colours, ideal for anyone looking to start making their own polymer clay jewellery. Great for Christmas crafting too – the first thing I ever made with polymer clay was actually a little Santa ornament!

Alex’s Gift Suggestion My suggestion is the Silversmithing for Jewellery makers Book by Elizabeth Bone. I bought this book for myself, it’s full of great ideas and tips for making stunning jewellery. We have such a wide range of great craft and jewellery making books, you can find something for everyone.

Alice W’s Gift Suggestion Keeper Flips, or storage in general is my pick. This may sound like a bit of a boring gift, however I know most crafters also love organising their craft materials and beads. So you’re not only buying a practical gift, but you’re also providing a mindful activity too. You can always fill up the storage with handy craft items or treats before you gift the boxes too.

Eli’s Gift Suggestion My choice is the candy cane kit or Christmas tree decoration, they’re the perfect stocking filler. You’ll learn how to bead, and end up with a cute 3D decoration that embodies Christmas. Both are great little kits to get anyone hooked on beading.

Emma’s Gift Suggestion My gift suggestion is a Geometric needle case cover, I really enjoyed making this for myself. And now I have somewhere to keep my needles safe. Which also makes the finished article a perfect gift for any sewing fans in your life.

Alice P’s Gift Suggestion I’m going to cheat and suggest 2 things. Firstly a bead spinner, I only used one for the first time recently and not only was it fun to use, it’s such a brilliant time saver when threading loads of beads. This would be a great gift for any beader. I’m also going to suggest the locking pin back, this could be a great stocking filler for any fans of pin badges. I’ve lost so many over the years, which is quite sad, so these are a brilliant practical gift – particularly if you’ve bought someone a pin badge!
