Wire Weaving Workshop for Beginners with Zoe Frater

Join us for a Wire Weaving Workshop for Beginners with Guest Tutor Zoe Frater. Zoe is a wonderful wirework artist, she creates fantastic intricate wire woven pendants including dragons, anatomical hearts as well as brilliantly organic shapes. In this workshop Zoe will teach you how to handle the wire and how to start weaving with practice wire. Before you go on to create your own small pendant utilising the wire weaving techniques and incorporating a focal beads and embellishments. You’ll work in copper wire as this is easier to manipulate.

Zoe will also talk you through, how to add a antique patina to your work using liver of sulphur, which really helps highlight the intricate weaving and detail and give a deeper shade to the wire.

You do not need any prior experience to book our Wire Weaving Workshop for Beginners. This class is suitable for both beginner wire workers and those of you wanting to brush up on your skills. This is a different style of pendant to the classes Zoe taught in 2023, the Asymetrix design gives you a more organic shape to play with. So if you have previously attended a class with Zoe I’m sure you will get more out of this class too – it’s also the perfect opportunity to brush up on your skills and have a very enjoyable afternoon.

During this 3 hours class you’ll learn a couple of different wire weaving techniques and make a simple pendant to put your newly leant skills into practice.
